My Heart Belongs to NYC

This Valentine's Day, my heart belongs to New York City, which I will once again call home in a few short weeks.
In the words of Truman Capote: "I love New York, even though it isn't mine, the way something has to be, a tree or a street or a house, something, anyway, that belongs to me because I belong to it."
When I left New York in September 2014, when I watched the skyline grow smaller and smaller in the rearview mirror, I honestly never thought I'd call the city home again. I was happy with my decision. I was headed back home to Virginia. I found an amazing job and got to do some amazing things. I was close to my family again, I spent lots of time with my best friends, and I found Rory.
Fast forward several months, and I'll be the first to admit that I had the itch to get back to the city, back to book publishing. It all happened so fast--moving out of my apartment, moving in with my parents, finding my dream job in Manhattan, and securing a temporary place to call home. And I couldn't be more thrilled.
My heart belongs to New York; I belong to New York. I belong in New York...and I can't wait to see where this new chapter in my life takes me.
