About Damn Time

You've all seen the Wheel of Fortune game...Before and After. "Wheel of Fortune Cookie." Well, the title of this post serves two purposes. My own Before and After, if you will.
It has been brought to my attention that people actually read what I post on this site. While I think you all have better things to do with your time, I so so so appreciate the support and encouragement. Considering it has been almost a year since my last entry, and considering what a special weekend my family has just had, I thought I'd get back I'd get back in the blogging game. What you're thinking (I hope) is, "It's about damn time!" It is indeed, friends.
A lot has happened for me this year. I started a new job. I returned to Paris, the City of Light, as well as visiting two new cities: Geneva and Marseilles. And some things have stayed the same. I'm still working part-time at the ballet studio. I'm still loving my (new) apartment.
The biggest change happened just a few hours ago. But it was a change I've been planning for since April.
Drumroll please....
My sister is ENGAGED!!!!!!!!
Guys: You know me, and you know this engagement has been a long time coming. In fact, today is their ten-year anniversary. How crazy is that?!? Well, we obviously wanted to make the event as special and memorable as possible.
To tell you the truth, I was nervous as H-E-double hockey sticks the entire weekend. My sister's new fiance and H have put a lot of work into making sure everything went without a hitch. There was the photographer to hire, the ring to design, the cake to choose, the venue to decorate...and this was only the proposal!!! Fortunately, with the exception of a couple hiccups, everything went smoothly, and SHE SAID YES!! (Or, more accurately, she said ABOUT DAMN TIME!)
To celebrate this momentous occasion, and to chronicle all the exciting milestones to come over the next year or so, I've decided to return to blogging. And what better way to rechristen the blog than with sneak-peek snapshots of my sister's special day? Check back soon for more updates. I have a feeling this is going to be a great year...
