This weekend I had the privilege and honor of not only attending but being a part of a very special wedding. I flew from New York to Myrtle Beach and rented a car to drive out to the DeBordieu Club in Georgetown to celebrate the marriage of Brigham and Brett. I've known Brigham since my freshman year of college. We met and bonded immediately over a mutual obsession with High School Musical and Zac Efron. Soon I became her sorority sister when I joined Tri Delta, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Friday evening was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. I had to drive straight from the airport and change at the club, but I made it just in time to attend the rehearsal and get my instructions for the reading the bride and groom asked me to do. After the rehearsal we drove to Pawley's Island for a very classy rehearsal dinner at an oceanfront restaurant they'd rented out for the occasion. Amazing food and some tear-jerking speeches from the sisters of the bride and groom, as well as a funny and sentimental slideshow of Brett and Brigham through the years, made for a very memorable evening.

Saturday morning I was lazy and slept in. I ate breakfast on the patio overlooking the beach and later took a walk on the sand before it was time to get ready for the wedding.

Brett and Brigham chose the DeBordieu club for their big day, and I have to say the venue was absolutely breathtaking. Spanish moss, the marsh, a perfectly placed oak tree, and weather that exceeded all expectations. It was the ideal setting to watch these two amazing people join together and become a family. (Also, I managed to get through my verses without screwing up!) After the I Dos and the exchange of rings and the Presenting the New Mr. and Mrs., we all gathered for pictures and--after spotting a gator in the marsh--hopped back in our cars for the short drive to the reception. The house I was staying at was close enough to the reception that we could walk, which meant it was time for a long night of celebrating!

I've been to a lot of weddings in my life, and all of them have been different and beautiful. But there was something about this weekend that stood out. Maybe it was the picturesque beach backdrop or the amazing food. Maybe it was the extremely talented and infectious band or the tangible love felt among all the guests. Maybe it was seeing one of my dearest friends break down in tears because she was just so happy. Whatever it was, I'll never forget this weekend, that wedding, and that moment of being a part of something beautiful and special and unbreakable.

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Brett and Brigham K. We love you both and wish you all the happiness in the world. Signed, sealed, delivered indeed.
