2017: A Year in Review

What can I say about 2017? Well, it certainly had its ups and downs. Its better moments and its not-so-great ones. Personally, I'm looking forward to a new year, a fresh start, a clean slate. But that's not to say I won't look back fondly on this last year. Because I made some pretty amazing memories. For this final post of 2017, I choose to remember the good times. The moments that I'll look back on whenever someone mentions 2017 in passing conversation. These pictures are only a small representation of what made 2017 special.
2017 brought Ollie into our family, which alone could have made this year pretty extra. I saw not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, but SIX mind-blowing shows—Waitress, Bandstand, and Anastasia on Broadway; MOVE Beyond with Julianne and Derek Hough and the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular, both at Radio City Music Hall; and New York City Ballet's The Nutcracker at Lincoln Center. Two of my dearest friends got married. I attended my first Met baseball game and moved into my "big girl" dream apartment. My family gathered around tables full of turkey and cranberry salad at Thanksgiving. Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement, and William and Catherine announced they are expecting baby number three (yes, I include the royal family's happy news in my year in review). I met one of my favorite chefs—she even signed my cookbook "Happy Birthday"! Harley and Ollie rocked matching PJs on Christmas Eve. And last, but certainly not least, THE WAKE FOREST DEMON DEACONS WON THE BELK BOWL AND I WAS THERE TO WITNESS IT!!!
Next year, there are things I hope to accomplish, to change, to achieve, to see and do, and to complete. But today, to paraphrase John Mellencamp, I choose to hold on to 2017 as long as I can.
