There is a reason they call it a New York Minute.
In the first week I've checked off more boxes than any sane person should, and I only got a little stress acne in the process.
1) I started my new (dream) job at Abrams, and (obviously) I'm loving it so far! I'm in a temporary office--with a window and a door!--until my cubicle is ready. I spent the first week reading some pretty amazing manuscripts that I will definitely share with you guys when they are published. And I've already been assigned my list of titles for the new season (trust me, this is very exciting).
2) I looked for, found, signed a lease for, and moved into a new apartment in the Upper East Side, about 10 blocks south of where I lived before. I don't have internet or cable yet, and I'm using the furniture that was left by the previous tenant for now, and I have a lot of work before it is my own, but I love it already! (Shout out to my friend and broker, Lindsay, for helping me find the perfect place in the city!)

3) Last night I spent the evening as only a true New Yorker can: listening to classic Broadway music performed by the New York Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall...accompanied by the obscenely talented Darren Criss and Betsy Wolfe. My seats were so high up that I had vertigo for a few minutes, but as soon as the music started, I forgot all about that. I knew it was going to be an amazing show when it starts off with a medley of songs from "The Phantom of the Opera." And, of course, I swooned a little when Darren Criss came on stage and started singing. It was a big room, but I can now say I've been in the same room as Darren. Although I have to say, the best part of the evening was Betsy Wolfe singing "Meadowlark" and, later, "Let It Go." Unbelievable. Give that girl a Tony!

As awesome as this week has been, I am looking forward to my first "normal" week--my new job, my new apartment, maybe a run in the park. Normal.
Who am I kidding? Nothing about my life is normal. Not anymore.
